Literally every available surface was covered in books. There was a bookshelf in the bathroom crammed with books in five different languages, and it was awesome.

So I was at my neighbor’s to talk about dogsitting for them for the next few days and, we were talking about books. How they get uninteresting at some parts, and slow but then they pick back up. And, Debi said “I guess sometimes you have to get through the sluggish parts to get to the great parts.” And I just sat there thinking of how that applies to both life and books, and how a life is like a story. It’s weird that she didn’t even notice what she said, but I found it amazing.

I just finished Jasper Fforde’s first book, The Eyre Affair. For those of you who asked me to share my thoughts once I’d read it, I have to say that I enjoyed Shades of Grey more, mainly because the world he created in that story was more fun and so unlike anything I’d ever read. That being said, I do plan to read the rest of the Thursday Next series, and if you liked Shades of Grey, his other books are worth reading, in my opinion.

It’s so dull outside but I kinda like it. The snow has finally started to melt it took long enough but I guess that’s the price you have to pay when you’re living in Alaska haha… Speaking of Alaska I recently started reading this book called ‘Looking for Alaska’ So far it’s been really good, it’s about a boy (Miles Halter) who isn’t really popular at all so he decides to move to a different school in Alabama called Culver Creek. He then soon meets his roommate nicknamed “The colonel” who is basically the complete opposite of Miles but they somehow develop a friendship. “The Colonel” has this other friend (Alaska Young) which would be described as an attractive yet emotionally unstable girl. Also known as Miles Halter’s first crush.

If you want to know more about this book just click here I’ve only just begun reading it, I’m on page 42 lol. I will continue a review of this book as soon as I get to finish it but that’ll be on a next post.
