i will always love reading books. its a consisten part of my day, reading whatever book i’ve got going before i fall to sleep or as i’m in between things or whenever. my favorite books mean a lot to me and a lot of the time reading has been a defining experience for me. but most of the time i just do it because it is a good way to pass the time and it makes me happy and i like it. 

but every now and then i’m having a horrible, really shit, emotionally exhausting day and i open up a book and i read even just a little bit and it makes me feel better. it doesn’t make the problems go away, but for the time i’m reading it it soothes my soul in a kinda quietly profound way. and its easy to take books/reading for granted but when something like that comes up i feel so fucking grateful for all the books that have and will bring that peace.
