thecemeteryof-forgottenbooks:

I just finished this book about two days ago, and it was, of course, amazing.
The Prisoner of Heaven is part of The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series, which also consists of The Angel’s Game and The Shadow of the Wind. This is the third book to come out in the series, but they don’t have to be read in any particular order; the books can be read independently and still be just as engrossing.
This book was quite a bit shorter than I am used to with this series, but it was wonderful none the less. I haven’t read the other two books in a while, but I still remember the plot well enough to merge the details and delve deeper into the twisting and fascinating world of Barcelona in the 50’s. The story gets dark and sad at times, but the characters are always so vigilant and good at heart that you can’t help but feel hopeful.
The stories are a labyrinth that I love to get lost in. This particular book, although shorter than the others in the series, did not disappoint in the slightest. I give it 5 out of 5 stars for sure.
